Irrfan Khan watched Karwaan at special screening in London, this was his reaction
Actor Irrfan Khan watched his new film Karwaan while undergoing treatment for his rare neuroendocrine tumour in London. This was his reaction.
A special screening for the film Karwaan was organised for star Irrfan Khan at London, where he is battling a rare cancer. The actor watched the film and even offered some feedback, a new report says.
According to Mumbai Mirror, Irrfan, who has been diagnosed with neuroendocrine tumour and is undergoing treatment in the British capital, was shown the film at Henry Wood House, a business centre in London. Dialogue writer Hussain Dalal told Mirror, “He seemed happy to see me. His wife (Sutapa Sikdar) and some close friends were also present at the screening. After the film, we spoke about it. He had some minor suggestions for the team but overall, his family and he seemed pretty pleased.”
In an earlier interview, director Akarsh Khurana had spoken about Irrfan’s reaction to watching the trailer. “He spoke to me at length after the screening in London and I was happy and relieved with his response and that of his family.”
The director said that they didn’t want to burden Irrfan with the film’s promotions while he was undergoing treatment for his condition. “His approval and blessings are with us, and that’s all that we need. He sounded good when we spoke and we’re all hoping that he bounces back from this challenging phase soon,” Khurana said.
Karwaan features Irrfan, Marathi actor Mithila Palkar and Malayalam actor Dulquer Salmaan, making his Bollywood debut. The film is a black comedy that will be released on August 3.
Irrfan was diagnosed with the condition four months ago and has only broken his silence on a handful of occasions. In a recent interview to Times of India, the actor said that he is grateful for all the good wishes that have been pouring in.
