Suresh Raina to finish IPL 2018 as tournament’s leading run-scorer

Chennai Super Kings (CSK) middle-order mainstay Suresh Raina is set to finish Indian Premier League (IPL) 2018 as the leading run-scorer in the tournament history, following his 22-run innings on Tuesday.
Raina has leapfrogged Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) captain and his India teammate Virat Kohli in the list of all-time leading run-scorers in IPL history. In 175 games, Raina now has 4,953 runs compared to Kohli’s 4,948 runs in 163 matches.
Raina was cleaned up by Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) fast bowler Siddharth Kaul for a 13-ball 22 in their chase of 140 in the Qualifier 1 at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on Tuesday night.

The left-handed batsman has scored 413 runs in 14 matches this season with four half-centuries.
With 530 runs at 48.18 with four half-centuries, the run-machine Kohli did finish in the tournament’s top 10 highest run-getters, despite his team failing to make it to the final four once again.
In 14 matches, Royal Challengers Bangalore won six games and lost eight, finishing sixth with 12 points. On the other hand, CSK were at the second spot after the end of the league stage.
The clash between Chennai and Sunrisers Hyderabad on Tuesday will see the winner progressing to the final, whereas the losing team will travel to Kolkata to play in Qualifier 2.
