Woman forced to drink liquor; lover, aides gang rape her in Kerala
Though the incident happened on January 30, the 36-year-old victim revealed her plight to her husband only two days ago after the accused started blackmailing her.
A woman was forced to drink liquor and allegedly gang raped by six persons in Koduvally on the outskirts of Kozhikode in north Kerala, police said.
Though the incident happened on January 30, the 36-year-old victim revealed her plight to her husband only two days ago after the accused started blackmailing her.
Koduvailly police have registered a case against six persons who are absconding.
Police said one of the accused, staying near her house, developed an intimate relation with her and took her to a desolated house on January 30.
Later, others joined them and forced her to drink liquor. They took turns to rape her and photographed the whole incident.
Police said she was scared to disclose her plight but later she confided to her husband when the accused started asking for sexual favours.
“We have registered a case against six persons for rape (IPC section 375) and illegal confinement (section 342). Efforts are on to nab them,” a senior police officer of Kozhikode district said.
However, some of her relatives said police delayed registering a case against the accused, leading to their escape.
“The husband and wife went to the police station two days back and informed the station in-charge about the incident. They were sent back without accepting their compliant, saying they have to investigate the complaint. A case was registered only on Wednesday night,” said one of her relatives, adding she was taken to medical examination two days after they approached police.
