Paparazzi call Anushka Sharma sir by mistake, Virat Kohli jokes: 'Virat ma'am bhi bol de'

Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma went out for dinner at a Mumbai restaurant when the paparazzi mistakenly called her sir. Virat joked he should be called ma'am.

Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma stepped out to have dinner with the rest of his team, Royal Challengers Bangalore, in Mumbai on Tuesday. The couple later came out of the restaurant to pose for pictures in front of the photographers, when one of them called Anushka 'sir' by mistake. Virat jokingly responded that he should be called 'ma'am' then. The couple smiled at the joke before heading back inside.

A paparazzo account captured the interaction online. Virat was wearing a printed shirt with black pants and white sneakers, while Anushka wore a white striped vest with white pants and black heels. In the video, the couple steps outside after their dinner to pose for the paparazzi. One of the photographers mistakenly called Anushka 'sir' as he was trying to get their attention to look at the cameras. Virat then jokes and says, "Virat ma'am bhi bol de (Why don't you say Virat ma'am too!)" The photographer then apologises. The couple took the gaffe in good humour and stepped back inside the restaurant.

The paparazzo's mistake had most of the fans in splits on the Instagram post. Most of the fans couldn't get over Virat's joke as well. One fan wrote, "(laughing face with tears emoji) virat mam." Another wrote, "Anushka sir (laughing face with tears emoji) virat mam bhi bolde @virat.kohli." Another called them their 'favourite couple' and yet another fan shared, "These 2 (fire and heart eyes emojis)."

Virat's team RCB lost a close match to the Mumbai Indians on Tuesday. Anushka has been present for all of his matches, watching from the stands. The couple got married in Italy in 2017 in a private ceremony for close friends and family. They had been dating for a few years. Their daughter Vamika Kohli was born in January 2021.

Anushka has been on a bit of break from acting these last few years. She was last seen in the film Zero (2018) along with Shah Rukh Khan and Katrina Kaif. In 2020, she produced the web series Paatal Lok and the film Bulbbul. The actor made a cameo appearance for the song Ghodey Pe Sawaar in the Netflix film Qala (2022) produced by her brother Karnesh Ssharma.
