Parliament news LIVE: Speaking on AAP convenor Arvind Kejriwal's E20 protest, BJP MP Sudhanshu Trivedi on Tuesday alleged his claims were “reckless and baseless”.

“The former Chief Minister of Delhi (Arvind Kejriwal), carrying the burden of his political failures, was once again seen staging his usual drama with a handful of supporters, making reckless and baseless allegations in his characteristic style,” PTI news agency cited Trivedi as saying.

“He claims to be a highly educated leader and an IIT graduate, yet he has a habit of speaking on serious issues without any factual basis. I would like to remind everyone that during the COVID-19 pandemic, he had questioned why the vaccine formula was not being shared with everyone. That was the statement of an IIT graduate,” Trivedi added.

Parliament news LIVE: Union minister Giriraj Singh on Tuesday said the textile sector “alone” had generated employment for over 4 crore people.

While speaking to reporters, Singh said, “..If you look at the textile sector alone, sewing machines have so far been imported into our country, and their numbers are set to increase further. When we provide one sewing machine to someone, it generates employment throughout the value chain, from fabric to garments.” He added that more than 2 crore sewing machines had been brought into the country, PTI news agency reported.

Jan Suraaj Party founder Prashant Kishor on Monday stunned the saffron party by wresting the Bankipur assembly constituency in Bihar, a BJP bastion since 1995, in a by-poll that was necessitated after its national president Nitin Nabin vacated the seat.

Kishor defeated his nearest BJP rival Neeraj Kumar by a margin of 19,324 votes.

Talking to reporters in New Delhi, Raut said that the student protests at Jantar Mantar and the subsequent police action against the young protesters, the "loot" in the Ram Mandir Temple in Ayodhya and the BJP leadership's subsequent silence on these issues were reasons for the saffron party's defeat in its stronghold, Bankipur.

He further claimed that the video of a performer dressed as Hindu deity Hanuman dancing and waving the BJP flag while welcoming party president Nitin Nabin in Lucknow had hurt people's sentiments.

Parliament news LIVE: The BJP on Tuesday accused the Congress and its INDIA bloc allies of deliberately disrupting the Monsoon Session of Parliament, alleging that their conduct has prevented discussions on key Bills and exposed the Opposition's "double standards" on issues such as paper leaks and student protests.

Addressing a press conference at the party headquarters here, BJP national spokesperson and Lok Sabha MP Sambit Patra alleged that despite crores of rupees being spent on every session of Parliament, Question Hour and Zero Hour have been repeatedly disrupted, depriving MPs of an opportunity to raise issues concerning their constituencies.

"The way the 2026 Monsoon Session of Parliament is progressing, and the manner in which the Congress party, along with some of its alliance partners, is disrupting the session, is a matter of serious concern. Crores of rupees are spent on every session of Parliament.

"However, ever since the session began, Question Hour has not taken place in Parliament. Disruptions are being created during Zero Hour as well," Patra told reporters.

"Hardly any Bill is being discussed. The reason behind this is the conduct of the Congress party and some of its INDIA alliance partners. I am genuinely surprised by their double standards," he said, adding that the Opposition might not allow Parliament to function on Tuesday as well.

Targeting the Congress over its alleged "double standards" on paper leak cases, Patra claimed the party remains silent on such incidents in states where it is in power while politicising similar issues elsewhere.

Parliament news LIVE: Leaders of the INDIA Bloc on Tuesday held a floor strategy meeting at the Parliament House amid the ongoing Parliament Monsoon Session.

The meeting comes after the Lok Sabha Business Advisory Committee met in Parliament yesterday, where the Opposition cornered the government over key issues, which included the demand for a statement from Home Minister Amit Shah regarding the alleged use of pellet guns against students at Jantar Mantar on July 20.

The Samajwadi Party separately sought a discussion in Parliament on the alleged Ram Mandir donation theft issue.

Speaking to ANI, Samajwadi Party leader Dharmendra Yadav said, "We have demanded a discussion in Parliament on the alleged Ram Mandir donation theft issue. We made the same request in the last Lok Sabha BAC meeting as well. Today we have again demanded it, along with a statement from the Home Minister on the use of force against students and the pellet guns used on 20th July."
