PM Modi, UAE President discuss West Asia crisis, bilateral ties over phone call
The UAE President, who dialled Modi, conveyed greetings on the PM's birthday. Modi turned 76 on Thursday.

The situation in West Asia and the India-United Arab Emirates (UAE) strategic partnership figured in a phone conversation on Friday between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
The two leaders reiterated their commitment to continued cooperation and coordination in efforts to promote regional peace, security and stability, a statement from the Prime Minister's Office said.
They also discussed new measures to bolster the bilateral comprehensive strategic partnership in areas such as energy, defence, technology, investment and health.

"Grateful to my brother, the President of the UAE, HH Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, for his call and birthday wishes. We discussed measures to further deepen our bilateral Comprehensive Strategic Partnership and exchanged views on efforts to promote regional peace, security and stability," Modi said on social media.

The UAE President also congratulated Modi on India's successful Brics presidency. Modi appreciated the participation of Abu Dhabi Crown Prince Sheikh Khaled in the Brics Summit and the UAE's cooperation in achieving substantive outcomes at the meeting.
