A U.S. F-35 reportedly declared an emergency while flying over Saudi Arabia before diverting toward Jordan, according to Iran’s Tasnim news agency. The stealth fighter reportedly activated the international 7700 emergency code and headed toward Muwaffaq Al-Salti Air Base, where U.S. military aircraft are stationed. The cause of the emergency, the condition of the aircraft and the pilot remained unclear. The incident comes after Iran previously claimed it had shot down an F-35 during its conflict with the U.S., while Houthi forces have separately claimed another Saudi drone was brought down.
