Possible cause remains unclear
Armstrong had not provided an official explanation for the outage. Some users speculated that severe weather or storm damage may have contributed to the disruption.
One user claimed, "Apparently there was some areas with bad winds and storm damage. My area in NW PA didn't experience it, but if there was an area that was damaged, maybe a big portion of Armstrong services were powered out of that area and caused a roaming blackout of services. Just speculation, but entirely possible. I do see that storm damage is being reported, however."
