Roblox down: Thousands report errors as users struggle to access games

Roblox is experiencing an apparent outage, with thousands of users reporting error messages and trouble accessing the popular gaming platform.

Update: Roblox appears to be working normally again following a brief outage on Saturday. During the disruption, users reported being unable to play games and encountering various server-related errors.

As of 4:10 p.m. EDT, the reported issues appear to have been resolved. The cause of the outage remains unknown.

Downdetector reports

According to outage tracker Downdetector, reports of problems began around 12:15 p.m. EDT on Saturday. Many users said they were unable to play games because of apparent server issues. By 12:30 p.m., Downdetector had recorded more than 20,000 outage reports.

One user reported, "Yeah roblox is broken. dont join anything unless you want complete data loss."

Another added, "I tried joining retrostudio and it just didn’t work, a lot of other games are also broken rn."

A third user wrote, "Ok but why tf does the status page say everything is operational when it clearly is."

Another player wrote, "Whenever i try to load any game, it gives me a datastore/database error a few seconds later and sometimes my home page won't even load."

Social media reports

Several users also took to X, formerly Twitter, to report issues with Roblox services.

One user wrote, "Roblox is down, datastore issue, i recommend not doing anything that requires saving/loading as of now until the servers go back up."

Another added, "So apparently roblox databases are down and resetting people's progress."

One more user reported, "Roblox services are down again, your data will not load in any game (JJS for example) nor will your current data save. This is most likely due to massive games getting an update at the same time."

Roblox has not publicly responded to the outage reports. The cause of the disruption and the timeline for a full restoration are not known.
