'There are things flying…': Marco Rubio makes UAP remarks amid Trump’s secret plane change revelations
Marco Rubio said he has long pushed for serious investigations into reports of unexplained aerial objects.
Secretary of State Marco Rubio has made new comments and has renewed his call for better scrutiny of unidentified aerial phenomena (UAP). During an interview with Katie Miller on her podcast, Rubio said that authorities should investigate objects flying over American military installations whose origins remain unknown.
His remarks came as new details were revealed about an elaborate security operation in which President Donald Trump secretly switched aircrafts after US intelligence detected a credible Iranian threat against his plane.

“I don't know who it is. I don't know what it is.”
Rubio said he has long pushed for serious investigations into reports of unexplained aerial objects. He stressed that his comments were not based on conspiracy theories but on national security concerns.
“I don't know who it is. I don't know what it is. But there are things flying over our military installations, and they're not ours, and we should look into this,” Rubio said.
He added that he had spent years raising the issue while serving in the Senate because unidentified objects over restricted airspace deserved official attention.
He maintained that the government should continue investigating unexplained incidents. Rubio added, “I've sort of surrendered that portfolio to someone else who you know well, who is very much in charge of the UAP issue.”
Rubio also acknowledged that discussing UAPs often diverted reporters from political questions. “I don't have time for these questions about politics. Do you realize there's things flying over airspace? We don't know what they are. And the reporter is like, oh, what do you know? Tell me more.”
He further rejected claims that the administration was concealing evidence about extraterrestrial activity. “I assure you, in this administration, if we knew, the president would be all over it,” Rubio said. “There would be a primetime address. He would be showing the pictures and the videos.”
The public interest in UAP investigators has increased following congressional hearings and repeated Pentagon reviews of unidentified objects observed near military facilities. The Pentagon has consistently said that many reports remain unresolved because of insufficient data.

Trump confirms plane change after Iran threat
Rubio's remarks surfaced as fresh reporting detailed a security operation involving President Donald Trump during his return from a NATO summit in Turkey.
According to The Washington Post, Trump appeared to board Air Force One in front of television cameras but secretly left the aircraft through the opposite side. He reportedly used a catering truck as cover before boarding a smaller C-32A military aircraft. The deception followed intelligence about a credible Iranian missile threat targeting the president's plane.
Journalists and some White House staff reportedly remained aboard the larger aircraft without knowing that Trump had changed planes.
The aircraft carrying the press continued using the "Air Force One" call sign to maintain the deception, while the president's aircraft flew under a different designation.
Trump also acknowledged that security officials directed him to use another aircraft. He said, “I go by Secret Service and the military. They wanted me to go on a different flight, a different plane. I do what they say. I guess there was a threat out there. I didn't really ask too much about it. I get a lot of threats.”
